Flirty in frills: Miranda Kerr gives a lesson in how to wear a cocktail dress as she turns heads in red and white for Australia week

She does of course model for a living, even if more or often than not it’s lingerie. 
So it’s no surprise that when it came to dressing for an event Miranda Kerr managed to steal the show on Wednesday evening.
The model headed up the Australian guests in a red and white strapless prom dress at the Annual Qantas cocktail party to kick off G’Day USA week, in Beverly Hills.

Wearing the appropriate colours for Qantas Miranda showed off her slim figure as the white dress featuring red-trimmed petal-like details was cinched in at the waist with a large red belt.

 

The pretty frilly dress fell to the middle of her calves making the strapless dress by flirty and modest. 
Making sure the outfit had maximum impact she wore her long hair off her face in a slick ponytail.

Matching the dress she wore a slick of red lipstick which brought the whole look together. 
The event, to celebrate all things Australian, was also attended by actor John Travolta,  musician Keith Urban,  Nick Bishop, Kym Johnson and Bella Heathcote.
Earlier in the day the hands on mum was spotted heading into a ballet studio with her young son Flynn. 

Red alert: While the white dress featured red trimmed frill detail she also wore a red belt, heels and a dash of lipstick

Careful: Miranda was seen hoisting up her strapless dress as she posed for pictures at the event

The adorable twosome shared some giggles as they headed into the ballet studio with Flynn pretending to make his toy helicopter fly.
Clearly ballet is Miranda's fitness secret to keeping her legs Victoria's Secret catwalk ready.
The model later tweeted her dancer instructor to thank her.'Thanks Andie Hecker @balletbodiesla for an amazing workout!,' Miranda said.

Fylnn turned two this week and the family celebrated by getting him a big fire engine jumping castle at their Los Angeles home.
The couple married in 2010 but busy work schedules have meant they have often had to make a long distance marriage work and in 2012 they were forced to deny they had split. 
While Miranda jets all over the world to model, Orlando spent a considerable amount of 2012 in New Zealand filming The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and 2013 looks like more of the same for the actor, who is also starring in the third film in the series.

G’day USA is an annual program designed to showcase Australian business capabilities in the the USA- the country’s largest trading and investment partner.  It runs from the 9th to the 22nd January. 
Miranda was famously the first Australian to participate in a Victoria’s Secret Campaign.
